CyberPower also unveils CrossFire X-enabled gaming laptop

Week ago, Alienware announced the official release of its CrossFire X-enabled M17 gaming laptop, which combined the latest Intel processors with the graphics performance achieved by two ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 GPUs. Now, CyberPower presented a new competitor to the M17 that also features the CrossFire X capability.

The Xtreme Gamer M1 comes with the choice of Penryn Intel Core 2 Duo or Extreme processors, 4GB PC3-8500 DDR3-1066 RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 512MB dual video cards with CrossFireX (HD 3870 X2), 320GB 5400rpm hard drive, and 17-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display. Additional features include a built-in Super-Multi drive, a media card slot, express card slot, 3 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, D-sub, 2W Stereo speakers and subwoofer, as well as the usual 802.11 a/g/n wireless LAN and Bluetooth connectivity, built-in 2.0 MP webcamera and fingerprint reader.

The basic configuration of the CyberPower Gamer Xtreme M1 laptop is priced at $2,199. It includes a Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53GHz processor.  For an extra $579, the system's CPU can be upgraded to an Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU.  You can also choose to downgrade to a P8400 2.26GHz processor, saving $120. The 128GB SSD is a $420 option, while the 320GB 7,200rpm HDD costs an additional $80.
